What is the difference between custom number plates and private number plates?

A private (personalised) number plate is the registration itself, a right purchased through the DVLA or a dealer. Custom number plates are the physical plates displaying a registration. We manufacture the plates; we do not sell registrations. If you have bought a private reg, you will still need a set of physical plates made, which is where we come in.
